Poco put two hundred megapixels on the back of two phones. F9 Ultra and F9 Pro, unveiled 1 September 2026. PetaPixel filed the camera stack the same day. The object is the module, not a slogan.
The Ultra carries Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a VisionBoost D8 chip, a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 5× periscope, a 50MP ultrawide, a 32MP front camera, and an 8,050 mAh battery. Those are Poco’s numbers, on Poco’s global product page and in PetaPixel’s copy.
PetaPixel’s Kate Garibaldi, 1 September: the F9 Ultra is Poco’s first phone with a 200MP main camera. The sensor includes OIS and a dedicated 200MP shooting mode that Poco says is for cropping and reframing. The 5× periscope is the second rear camera. “Poco says the telephoto system provides 10x lossless zoom and can extend to 20x using its AI Ultra Zoom processing.” Those are claims. I'm labelling them as claims. I haven't independently tested a lossless 10× or a processed 20×. A 50MP ultrawide and a 32MP front camera round out the system on PetaPixel’s list and on Poco’s Ultra page. Poco’s own Ultra spec puts the ultrawide at a 17 mm equivalent, ƒ/2.4. The main is listed with OIS. The periscope is listed as a flagship 5× with OIS, 50MP.
The Pro is the other object. Poco’s global F9 Pro page: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series, official name Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, V series (SM8850-1-AB). Same VisionBoost D8 chip. Same 200MP main with OIS. A 50MP 2.5× floating telephoto with OIS that Poco lists at a 60 mm native focal length, ƒ/2.0, and 10 cm macro photography. That 10 cm focus distance is Poco’s, and PetaPixel reprinted it. The Pro page does not list an ultrawide. PetaPixel gave the Pro a 50MP ultrawide. GSMArena, the same day, gave the Pro an 8MP ultrawide and the Ultra a 50MP OV50M. Three descriptions. Official Pro page silent. I'm omitting a Pro ultrawide rather than pick a fight the manufacturer did not print. 32MP front camera, yes, on Poco’s Pro page.
GSMArena, citing Qualcomm’s documents, says the V-series chip is still an Adreno 840 with one fewer GPU slice than the full 8 Elite Gen 5 on the Ultra. That is GSMArena on Qualcomm’s paperwork, not a bench I ran. Memory as GSMArena tabulated it: Ultra up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage; Pro up to 12 GB and 512 GB. PetaPixel’s Ultra configurations match that split: 12 GB / 256 GB, 16 GB / 512 GB, 16 GB / 1 TB. Pro, on PetaPixel: 12 GB / 256 GB and 12 GB / 512 GB.
Display is a claimed 185 Hz on both. Poco’s Ultra page: 6.9 inches, about 175 millimetres; footnote 1 says “about 6.85 inches in the full rectangle,” about 174 millimetres; 2,608 × 1,200, POCO HyperRGB AMOLED, maximum refresh rate 185 Hz. Poco’s Pro page: 6.59 inches, about 167 millimetres, 2,510 × 1,156, same 185 Hz claim. Peak brightness, both Poco pages: 4,500 nits multi-scenario, up to 10,000 nits at 1 percent APL, lab figures from Poco Internal Labs. 185 FPS in games is a separate claim. Footnote 3 on the Ultra page: 185 FPS “refers to the maximum frame rate in selected games under internal test conditions.” VisionBoost D8 is the named co-processor for frame interpolation and super-resolution. “Our extensive 185FPS ecosystem supports 20+ games.” Actual frame rate, Poco wrote, varies with title, graphics settings, software, network, and temperature. 185 Hz on the panel is the refresh-rate claim. 185 FPS in a game is the interpolation claim. Don't mix them.
Battery, Ultra: 8,050 mAh typical, silicon-carbon, 16 percent silicon content, claimed 809 watt-hours per litre. Poco calls it the largest battery in the F Series. Wired HyperCharge 100 W; wireless 50 W; reverse 27 W wired and 22.5 W wireless. Poco Internal Labs: 50 minutes to 100 percent from 1 percent on the 100 W in-box charger in “Top speed” with the display off; 37 minutes to 50 percent on a Xiaomi 50 W Wireless Charging Stand Pro. Pro battery: 6,330 mAh typical, same 16 percent silicon-carbon note, same 100 W / 50 W HyperCharge pair. Pro Labs: 19 minutes to 50 percent wired, 35 minutes to 50 percent wireless, same caveats. IP68 on both, Poco’s lab: 1.5 metres of static freshwater, 30 minutes. Adapter in the box: consult the local seller. Wireless charger sold separately.
Sound by Bose is on both. Ultra: 2.1-channel, dual 1115D stereo speakers and a 1620 subwoofer. Pro: dual 1115F symmetrical stereo, no subwoofer on Poco’s Pro page. Colours: Ultra in Dark Cherry and Black, with a dynamic light in the camera module. Pro in White, Aurora Green, and Black. Aurora Green is Poco’s first full-panel luminous back, glowing after sunlight or indoor light; a blue-violet laser pointer for patterns is sold separately. Software: Xiaomi HyperOS 3, with feature availability varying by region, per Poco’s footnotes. GSMArena adds Android 16 and four promised OS updates. That's GSMArena's line, not Poco's footnotes.
Prices, as PetaPixel printed them for the Ultra. 12 GB / 256 GB: $799, early-bird $729. 16 GB / 512 GB: $949, early-bird $799. 16 GB / 1 TB: $1,199, early-bird $1,059. Europe: €1,099.90, €1,199.90, €1,399.90, early-bird €829.90, €899.90, €1,199.90. GSMArena’s Ultra table is a cent off on some euro lines (€1,099.99). I'm following PetaPixel’s Ultra ticket and noting the GSMArena cent. Pro prices are not on the PetaPixel piece I filed from. GSMArena and 9to5Google both print Pro 12 GB / 256 GB at $699 / €899.99, early-bird $649 / €739.99; 12 GB / 512 GB at $769 / €999.99, early-bird $699 / €799.99. Those Pro stickers are GSMArena and 9to5Google, not Poco’s spec page, which did not put a dollar on the fetch I used.
On-sale date is the hole. PetaPixel lists configurations and prices as available, and reminds US buyers that a global Poco phone is not an official US retail launch. Digital Trends: neither F9 Ultra nor F9 Pro is officially coming to the United States. Poco’s own pages send colour, storage, and RAM to the local seller. I'm not inventing an Australian dollar, a carrier, or a Monday street date. Global product pages exist at po.co for both models. Local channels decide when a unit is in a box you can carry.
