Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three filmed in IMAX 70 mm. In the U.S. it has a three-week IMAX exclusivity over Avengers: Doomsday. That is a studio putting money into metal and film, not only a volume of pixels.

On 18 August, Cosmic Book News and AMC traffic showed Dune: Part Three IMAX 70 mm and premium-large-format tickets on sale, with new footage attached. A trailer is a dispatch. This one had a date in the lower third a family can circle: 18 December 2026.

The scare calendar in late 2026 still has to share December with Villeneuve’s Arrakis picture, which has locked IMAX through the holidays. Occasion is the through-line: a coat, a 70 mm print, a date you dress for.

Warner Bros. and Legendary have Villeneuve’s third Arrakis film in theatres and IMAX in North America on 18 December, internationally from 16 December. It adapts Dune Messiah. Principal photography wrapped in November 2025.
